Program Services (Currently suspended…keep checking back for updates….)
Don’t let your vision stop you; stay active and engaged in life! Our programs provide people a place to network and navigate the world with confidence. We offer a variety of social and recreational activities that are adapted for people living with low vision. Monthly programs include Arts & Crafts, Bingo, Book Club and Music Appreciation. In addition to our monthly programs we offer annual programs such as a Braille Rally presented by the Porsche Club of America Delaware, Holiday Parties that are presented by Lions Club International District 22D, and the Annual Picnic presented by the Italo-Americans United of Delaware. Weekend trips are also offered to a variety of locations that are determined by and for our members. Most programs offer door-to-door transportation.
Arts & Crafts is held in all three counties in Delaware (locations and times are listed below). In these classes participants create unique works of art while using tactile senses. Workshops have produced holiday and seasonal pieces, flower arrangements, wood crafts, paintings and much more. Join us to put your sensory skills to work producing lovely items for yourself, family and friends. Donations for transportation and coffee are gladly accepted. If you would like to attend and need transportation please call our Program Department.
Bingo – We use large print, and braille bingo cards. Snacks and beverages are available for a nominal fee. Donations for transportation are gladly accepted. If you would like to attend and need transportation please call our Program Department.
Music Appreciation is held at Landis Lodge. This program presents our members with “good” music while discussing the memories and feelings each piece of music brings to us. Studies have shown that music is important for visually impaired and elderly and can improve both physical and mental health. So join us at this wonderful activity to walk down memory lane while keeping your brain healthy. Donations for transportation and coffee are gladly accepted. If you would like to attend and need transportation please call our Program Department.
